On Sunday November 5th the Kent School girls varsity soccer team played Westover School at home and won 5-0. The team is led by captains Megan Landrigan ‘17, Morgan Baravalle ‘17, and Maeve Martin ‘17. This game was Kent’s first win after 7 consecutive losses.

Goals in the first half were scored by Baravalle, Georgia Ambler ‘18, and Ryann Mushkin ‘19. In the second half Landrigan scored a header goal along with Ksenia Avakyan ‘17.

According to Coach Klingebiel, “The best part was in the first half we were winning but we weren’t playing great, but in the second half we actually scored fewer goals, but we played such better soccer. It was really nice just to see them just passing really well and supporting each other, and it also got the chance where everyone got to play and got to play a good little bit. So that was really fun.”

The girls only have two more games left in the season. There is a home one against Gunnery and an away game against Loomis Chaffee School. So far this season the team is 5-7, with this week’s win against Westover being their 5th win. According to 5th former Marisa Marshall: “We played really strong. It was a good win.”
