Kent Boys Varsity Lacrosse is entering a new era. After last year’s difficult season, something has changed within the program; the message of G.U.T.S. has become rooted in the minds of every player: Grit, Unity, Toughness, and Smart. These core values are shaping the team and building a culture that is hungry to improve.
Players like Baron Mazariegos ’27, averaging at least a hat trick per game, along with Blake Cho ’26, Aiden Armilio ’26, Oliver Andreani Pandreff ’26, and Henry Bleetstein ’27, have embodied these values on the field—but they are far from alone. Every player on the roster has contributed to this shift. Whether on offense or defense, the team’s collective effort and commitment are helping reshape the program and push it in a new direction.
With two wins against South Kent & Forman already this season, the team has shown clear signs of progress. As Brighton Johnson ’26 has said, “The team chemistry felt different already.” This group is connected not only by having fun together but also by sharing the same goal and working toward it every day.
Although much has changed in the Kent Varsity Boys Lacrosse program, there is still a long way to go. Competing against other Founders League teams, many of which are nationally recognized powerhouses, Kent has continued to fight hard and give its best effort on the field. In a game against Berkshire, Kent battled until the very end and lost 15–6, but, nonetheless, showed real improvement from last season.
Looking ahead, there is still work to be done. But with strong leadership from all players of the team and a culture that continues to grow, it’s easy to envision Kent Boys Lacrosse returning to national recognition in the future.
