Anyone who walks along the flower-scented path to chapel, stands beneath the lush trees, feels the spring breeze, sits on the green lawn, chats with friends, has a picnic, or reads a book will be amazed by the beauty of Kent’s campus – which is being enhanced every day by the dedication and creativity of new staff member Ms. Teddi Miner.
Ms. Miner explained that her first job was at a nursery, but it was an inner voice that ultimately guided her. “The voice was strong, and I couldn’t resist it,” she said. “That’s why I decided to become a gardener.” She enjoys appreciating the beauty of nature, listening to birds, and working with coworkers to make the campus more beautiful. “I love my job, and it has already become a part of my life.”
Across campus, there are a variety of flower and tree species. Ms. Miner shared, “Lilacs are my favorite flower. Their beautiful blossoms, sweet fragrance, and varied colors always make me smile.” Though she is not someone who easily expresses herself in words, Ms. Miner constantly gives her best to make the school better, quietly and without seeking recognition. “When I plant flowers,” she said, “I’m not just planting the flower itself. I want to plant positivity and plant joy.”
