Boys Cross Country places 4th at Founders
November 16, 2016
On the November 5th, 2016 the Kent School Cross Country team participated in the Founders League Championship against teams from nine other schools.
Kent finished 4th place. The race was competitive and hard-fought, according to Boom Ungsrisawasdi ‘18. “Usually when you are racing you get isolated from the rest of the racers, but this time there was always someone in front or behind me.” Ungsrisawasdi also mentioned that the JV team got 5th place on Saturday and put in a great performance.
Coach Sokolnicki was “happy with the performance on Saturday; it was our best result in a long time.” Sokolnicki also mentions that this year has been the “most competitive the league has been in a long time,” making the team’s placement that much more impressive.
The next race that Kent will participate in will be New Englands, where Coach Sokolnicki is hoping for a top 5 position. Last year Kent came in second, but this year will be far more competitive than last.
John LePino ‘17 is a veteran of the team, and performed well on Saturday. “I felt ok about my race, it was a solid effort.” LePino has hopes of a top three position in the upcoming New England Championship.
