On Wednesday, April 12th the Kent girls varsity lacrosse team had a game against The Westover School. Since the team spent part of spring break training in Florida, they had some practice and knew how to work together as a cohesive unit, and came out with a decisive 18-2 win.

Carly Denora ‘18, who’s been a member of the team for three years, said, “we have a great group of girls this year. Our first two games didn’t go as planned due to missing a few players, but he 18-2 win against Westover was a commanding win and a step in the right direction.”

At halftime, the score was a strong 10-1 for Kent. Head coach Duncan said that the lead gave “the team the opportunity to run through offensive plays, and play everybody on the team.” As a coach, Mrs. Duncan feels fortunate that so many players can play both defense and offense and excel at both, and cited the strong play of Lizzie Gross, who “definitely led the team in draw controls” and is “very good in midfield.”

The Lacrosse team is filled with talented girls, including new players such as Caroline Grout ‘17, Madie Blakeslee ‘19 and Megan Landrigan ‘17, who Denora said “have made a great additions to the team this year both offensively and defensively.”
