Heading to Nationals over Winter Weekend

Kent boys varsity squash has amped-up its game this year, ranking between the 1st and 4th place in the national league. According to Head Coach Papa Seye, “the team is the best it has been in the past six years.”

“We have made history this year,” he comments, referring to the teams’ victories against both Loomis and Westminster. This is a feat that the boys have waited for over 20 years.

Gaining two new recruits this year was a definite plus for the team. Led by the team captain Abdelrahman ElSergany ’15, the two recruits, Youssef Fikry ’16 and Omar Attia ’17, are positioned at the top of the ladder as second and third position starters. ElSergany remarks that not only this seasons’ leading players, but also the top ranked JV players who moved up to join varsity this year have been, “great additions to the team.”

After a recent loss against Taft, the nationally ranked number one, our boys are working hard to recover and produce results at their upcoming match over winter weekend in Hartford, Connecticut. Our boys will be representing Kent School at the national level for the first time, competing against some of New England’s top ranking players.
