Kent Coffee and Chocolate (and more)

Victoria Geh, Editor in Chief

Kent Coffee & Chocolate Company has been a staple both to the town of Kent and here at school. Located next to the Fife ‘n Drum on Main Street, the shop dates back to 1991, when it was started by Sandra Champlain. The coffee shop is currently in the hands of Sharon Songal, a professional chef who brings many special treats to the store.

Upon entering, one will be greeted by a comforting atmosphere and cheerful staff. A wide selection of freshly baked pastries and chocolates are arranged in a beautiful display at the register, with even more options up on the menu boards. There are a variety of drinks, ranging from the standard hot chocolate to the South Kent Mocha, a student favorite. Many students adore the freshly baked coffee cream cheesecake and brownies, as well as the unique chocolate delights like the coconut clusters and hazelnut bark.

The spacious interior provides a wonderful study space, with the aromatic smell of coffee drifting around the room. Students usually stop by during weekend afternoons, and many teachers like stopping by in the morning to grab their daily morning coffee.
